Biography
Hello! I’m Andre, an Environmental Data Scientist with a deep-rooted passion for advancing sustainable water management. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, I experienced firsthand the challenges of water scarcity due to inadequate infrastructure and prolonged droughts. In 2006, at the age of eight, my family and I immigrated to the United States, a journey that shaped my worldview and my career path.
The challenges I experienced with water scarcity while growing up in Lima ignited a profound dedication to addressing global water issues. This led me to earning my Master’s degree in Environmental Data Science from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve gained skills in water analysis, hydrological modeling, and scientific communication, equipping me with the tools to make a difference in the world of water policy and management.
I am driven by the belief that effective water management is pivotal for community well-being and environmental sustainability. My goal is to leverage my academic background in water resources management and data science to inform and improve water policy, ensuring that communities worldwide have access to reliable and clean water.
